Nothing says it’s Christmas time better than the smell of a delicious eggnog with nutmeg and cinnamon. If you ever tried a homemade eggnog you know exactly what we mean. Now, here is one easy to make homemade eggnog recipe that will spice up your Christmas. So put on your Santa suit because it is time for some festive drinks.
Ingredients (for 6 cups):
2 cups of milk
1½ cups of heavy cream
5 egg yolks
2 egg whites
1 cup of bourbon
½ teaspoon of grated nutmeg
1 cup of sugar
6 cinnamon sticks (for serving)
How to make the Eggnog:
Start by beating the egg yolks until their color start to lighten a little. Add the sugar and continue beating until all the sugar dissolves.
Add the milk, cream, bourbon and nutmeg and stir thoroughly until all the ingredients are well combined.
Use a hand mixer to beat the egg whites with 1 sugar teaspoon. Beat until you get stiff peaks. Fold the egg whites into the eggnog mixture.
Cover the eggnog and chill for about an hour.
Serve with cinnamon sticks and a sprinkle of grated nut meg.
