Happy World Nutella Day!
I blogged about this recipe the other day, but since today is World Nutella Day, I thought it was worth repeating in celebration of the event – especially since today is the 5th Anniversary. I only discovered Nutella as an adult, but in recent years, you will always find a jar of it in my pantry. How did I live all of those years without it?????
I brought the Nutella Snack Mix to Annie and Louisa’s piano recital this morning. We plan to make more of it later today. Here is the recipe, once again:
Recipe for Nutella Snack Mix
9 cups of mixed Chex brand cereal (I used half rice, half corn)
1 and 1/2 cups Nutella
1 stick of butter
1 teaspoon chocolate extract
1 and 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup mini marshmallows
1 cup salted peanuts
Measure the cereal into a large bowl. Place the Nutella and the butter into the top of a double boiler and stir until warm, melted and creamy. Remove from heat and mix in the chocolate extract. Pour over the cereal in bowl and mix well. Put the powdered sugar into a gallon size zipper plastic bag. Add the cereal and shake well until covered. Pour the mixture onto a cookie sheet and cool. Finally, mix in the marshmallows and peanuts. Then try to resist going back for just one more sample.
Refrigerate in a covered container until ready to serve.

Got something to say?

Obviuosly Nutella is a food that you like. Can you describe the taste for me.
The best way to celebrate world Nutella day is to dip a big spoon into a jar!
It’s a very creamy spread made from chocolate and hazelnuts. Don’t know if you ever had one of those Italian Baci candies, but it’s the filling inside of them.
Maybe we should celebrate again tonight. I’ve got both the spoon and the jar.
This is a great Nutella treat.
Thanks Food Hunter! You must be a Nutella fan.
