I Won’t Be Making this for Thanksgiving Dessert
First there was the Turducken – a chicken stuffed inside of a duck, stuffed inside of a turkey. If the thought of all of that poultry stuffed together doesn’t make your head grow woozy, then think about the latest piling together of food – the Cherpumple. The Cherpumple was invented last year in response to the Turducken, and is a combination of cherry, pumpkin, and apple pies baked together in three different cake mixes and frosted. Here is the recipe if you’re interested:
I suppose it saves you the trouble of cutting three slivers of pie and slices of cake as we all tend to do around the dessert table on Thanksgiving. Personally, I’ll probably choose to make one or two of those pies and keep them separate. In my opinion some things, like pies and poultry, just taste better and look better as their own little nibble. Food that arrives on your plate looking like something that has already been scraped into the trash, isn’t a good thing to eat.
What do you think?

Got something to say?

I have not tasted either a turducken or a cherpumple. Have you? I would always reserve judgement until I tasted the food. I like to keep an open mind that way.
Well, you’re a much better foodie than me. I have not tried a turducken or a cherpumple. But based on prior dining experience, I really don’t believe I’d like them. I prefer food that retains flavors and textures that are less complicated. When I dine in a restaurant, and try a dish where the chef is trying a little too hard to pile on as many culinary tricks and trends as possible, it usually loses me.
Donna, I soooo agree with you!
I got nauseous just watching this video. This is a circus act, not a dessert!
It is, but I think that’s part of what was intended by the creator – he only did it tongue in cheek – I think! The problem is that people will take it seriously.
It’s hard to tell with these you tube “acts.” If the same guy was on you tube with the turducken, would it seem any less preposterous?
To me, yes – I think turducken is an abomination as well.
