Photo of the Week – September 8, 2010 – Ostrich Egg
My niece is holding the answer to the salmonella tainted chicken eggs – an ostrich egg! My brother and his family enjoyed this egg for two days. He said it was the equivalent of about two dozen chicken eggs, but tasted sweeter. One of his daughters teased him, asking for it to be cooked fried, over easy. His excuse was that they didn’t have a big enough fry pan or spatula. Right. I bet African dads don’t disappoint their kids with those lame excuses.

Got something to say?

What came first? The ostrich or the egg?
In this case it was the egg. Pretty sure there won’t be an ostrich.

Great idea – I’d submit it to them.
Well if you can separate an ostrich egg can a soufflé be far behind?
But how big of a souffle dish will you need?
Tasty for kids and adults! Too bad you can’t get these in a regular supermarket!
True, but how many people would want to try it? I’m guessing it’s pretty expensive since it’s not a common item in this country.
