Photo of the Week – 3/3/10 – Soup for the Season
It’s winter and it’s Lent. That means we need a warming supper without any meat on Friday. This one worked for me last week.

Try lentil soup for another dinner. I think Lent derived its name from lentils because lentils were a good source of meatless protein. Lentils I believe means lens in Greek which is the shape of a lentil.
Is that right? I cook lentils a lot. Not that the girls have developed any taste for them. But I love lentil soup. It goes way back to my childhood.
