Flip Flop Alert! The New Weight Goal is Moderately Chubby

The latest news from Australia suggests that it may be okay for the elderly to enjoy that extra slice of pizza every once in a while. In a study that tracked people older than 70 over a 10 year period, it was found that those classified as overweight had the lowest overall risk of dying, as well as the lowest risk of dying from diseases such as cancer and chronic respiratory diseases.

Scientists caution, however, that this neither means that the elderly should become clinically obese, which was found to be at the highest level of risk, nor should they become sedentary because that also shortens life spans.

Hey, I already love shrimp on the barbe and I can get used to vegemite sandwiches!

I don’t know about that. I’ve heard that vegemite is pretty nasty stuff. But maybe I should try it someday to know for sure. I think I’ve seen the stuff at Whole Foods.

Got something to say?

In England, a proper dessert consists of fruit and nuts; in France, fruit and cheese. But in America, dessert is a grand finale, a reward for good behavior, and, above all, a fanciful sweet. — Martha Stewart, Entertaining
