That’s One Prescription I Can Swallow

Not quite ripe blueberries.

Not quite ripe blueberries.

A new study continues to validate the health benefits of blueberries. The Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry reports on a study of seniors, with the average age of 78, who drank two cups of blueberry juice every day for 12 weeks. Those who drank the juice, showed improved memory thanks to the antioxidants and polyphenols found in the berries. Scientists hope this study will help point the way to a future cure and prevention of Alzheimer’s disease.

Go for it. Start slowly. One blueberry per day and you can overcome your aversion. :)

Got something to say?
