Photo of the Week – 1/20/10 – Like a Kid in a Pastry Shop

Like a Kid in a Pastry Shop

I think this was a case of marzipan goodies on display at Mike’s Pastry in Boston. But who cares? I feasted my eyes, and that was delicious enough.

You feast with your eyes before you taste, which leads me to a question. How many cooking ingredients or techniques are used just for appearence? Maybe someone (ie you) should write the “Good Looking Food” cookbook which chooses ingredients and techniques for appearance as well as taste. If you must you can consider nutrition too. :)

It’s a great idea – are you sure you wouldn’t want to be the author? A little nutrition never killed a good recipe, by the way :)

Your photo gives a whole new meaning to the word eyecandy!

I fully indulged in this visual treat while I was there.

Got something to say?

You’ve got to get hands-on, get stuck in and extract the most from the food in the most primal way. Use your hands to crush and combine the fresh herbs, garlic, and spices. Massage the marinade into the meat, and press the seasonings in with your hands instead of using a brush. — Adam Perry Lang, “BBQ 25″
