Thanksgiving Italian Style
Food continued to deliver on its promise of comfort last week with our Italian style Thanksgiving dinner the day after my aunt’s funeral. Actually, there was a small silver lining to be found in the fact that I was at my parents’ home the day before the holiday, and was able to help my mom with the cooking, something I never get to do.
Despite the unplanned events of the week, there were many good things to eat last Thursday. There was the Italian antipasto:
That was followed by the pasta course:

Finally, there was the main event, complete with Italian stuffed artiechokes, stuffed mushrooms, vegetable stuffing, sweet potatoes, green beans and, of course, the turkey. Not shown is the abundant Italian bread and red wine.

Careful pacing is required to get through this meal every year, but it’s well worth it. I just don’t understand why everyone else doesn’t celebrate this way.

Got something to say?

I like the spelling of artiechokes. Reminds me of a blog page I once visited.
Hah! I did that without even realizing it
