Photo of the Week – 11/25/09 – Meatball Slider, Louisa Style

This wasn't the plan.

This wasn't the plan.

One night last week I was in the mood for meatballs. I had some tomato sauce in the freezer, as well as Italian bread. So I served meatballs, broccolini, Italian bread, with a little sauce on the side. Louisa promptly proceeded to make a meatball slider for herself. Maybe this will end up on Applebee’s menu someday.

Might be too upscale for Applebees. I heard of one upscale restaurant having Kobe beef and truffle sliders for 38 dollars.

Sounds great, but anything with truffles sounds great.

When I was young and living with my parents my mother always made 3 or 4 giant meatballs along with the normal size ones. The giant ones were sliced at night for sandwiches with a dollop of sauce on top. I guess my mom invented Italian sliders!

What a great idea – that’s good planning. I may have to steal that idea.

Got something to say?
